As the school holidays come to an end and the pace of life begins to settle, many of us find ourselves slipping back into routines. Whether your summer was filled with travel, family commitments, long workdays, or simply a much-needed rest, this time of year often feels like a return to normality.
Routines can be grounding. They give us a sense of structure, stability, and predictability — all of which can help reduce stress and anxiety. But routines can also highlight where we may be struggling. When the busy days return, do you notice old patterns resurfacing? Do you feel depleted, unmotivated, or stuck in cycles you hoped to leave behind?
Why Healthy Habits Matter
Consistency builds resilience. When we keep regular habits — whether sleep, movement, journaling, or therapy — we strengthen our ability to manage challenges when they arise.
Small steps create big change. You don’t need to overhaul your life to feel better. Adding one supportive practice into your weekly routine can have a ripple effect on your mood and wellbeing.
Looking after yourself helps those around you. Just as children benefit from a steady routine at school, we benefit from one in adulthood. By prioritising your mental health, you create more space and energy to show up in your relationships, family, and work.
Why Therapy Can Be Part of Your Routine
Therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis. In fact, the most powerful changes often come when you commit to it regularly, allowing time for reflection, self-understanding, and growth. Just like exercise or healthy eating, therapy works best as part of a routine — a weekly space that’s just for you.
In therapy, you can:
Explore how summer transitions and routine changes affect your mood.
Identify patterns that may hold you back and learn healthier ways of coping.
Build resilience and confidence to manage life’s daily stresses.
Reconnect - Give yourself the gift of time and space to get in touch
with who you are.
A Gentle Invitation....
However you spent your summer, this season of “back to normal” is an opportunity to set intentions for your wellbeing.
If you’re ready to commit to regular sessions and invest in yourself, I would love to support you on that journey.
