Personal Counselling
A counselling session with me will not be about giving advice or passing judgement on anything you say.
The counselling room offers a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space that will assist you to gain insight and empower you to make your own decisions.
I offer an initial, free consultation which can be done over the phone or face-to-face.
An initial conversation is essential to ensure you feel therapy with myself is right for you. It also allows us the opportunity to discuss your current difficulties and agree on a way of working together in the therapy.
If you are keen to get started we can have a full counselling session at the same time as the consultation as I will always allow enough time, or we can schedule our first session in for a time that suits you - if, of course, that is what you choose to do.

I believe that ultimately the client is the expert in the room. Each individual will know themselves the best and what they want from life - but circumstances in life can block/damage this vision. By offering warmth, understanding and by being genuine, I can help you reconnect with your inner resources to find your own way forward. I do not offer direct advice or give opinions as I believe in empowering the client to follow their own path.
Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy
CBT can be particularly useful for clients coping with anxiety and depression. For those clients that this may benefit we would be looking at introducing life-long tools to be used immediately and in the long term, enabling you to see a brighter future and reach your own state of balance and emotional well-being.
Psychodynamic
counselling
Psychodynamic counselling would look at patterns in behaviour and perhaps exploring your past. This approach stresses the importance of the unconscious and past experience in determining current behaviour. We may focus on childhood relationships with parents and/or other significant people.
Additional Therapies
As well as these approaches I have experience in Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness.
